Sunday’s Coming

April 18, 2014 — Leave a comment

Hello Everyone:

I have four brief items I’m highlighting for our church on this Good Friday but I also have something in this post for everyone.  After you read this enote that I sent to our church family earlier, why don’t you watch the video at the end.  It’s the classic S.M. Lockridge “It’s Friday, But Sunday’s Coming” monologue with video from the movie The Passion of the Christ.  It sure grips me.

First, we will have a Good Friday service tonight at 6:30 followed by a showing of the movie The Passion of the Christ. Feel free to come to both or either. Good Friday is only good because of what Resurrection Sunday declares it to be, which is the satisfactory sacrifice of Jesus for broken people like you and me. And that leads me to this …

Second, this Sunday of course is Easter Sunday and we will tell the story of Jesus in both services through narrations, readings, communion, prayers and songs. Our first service will be done acappella and our second service will feature an orchestra. I believe you will be taught, reminded, encouraged and inspired because of the grand story of our great God and King.

Third, we will have very convenient off-site parking and shuttle service available at Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital (formerly called Sugar Land Surgical Hospital) – across the street from Sara Appliance and Garden Ridge. Park there and ride the shuttle to our front doors starting at 8:10am. Return service provided as well.

Fourth, our Missions Dinner to raise funds for youth missions is next Saturday evening, April 26. It’s a great cause and tickets will be available in our main street hallway this Sunday. It will be a fun night for a noble cause.

Have a Blessed Easter!
