I have three items to highlight in this Saturday enote.
First, thank you so very much for the many expressions of sympathy and care after my Mom died a few days ago. She loved you and loved coming here for visits. She made her first trip here (with my Dad) back when we started in 1985 and made her last visit here in 2007. She was a terrific person, a devoted Christian, a joyful woman of God and her imprint upon our family is strong. It’s the kind of imprint that endures eternally. I love and honor her still.
Second, I’m so grateful for your incredible generosity for our Missions Ministry. Last week you gave over $103,000 specifically for missions. That says so much about where your hearts are and what you treasure. Thank you.
Third, this Sunday we conclude our Change the World series by looking at our ministry to children. In both services, several young children will be dedicated to God. In our message time, I will challenge us to change the world by influencing children and I will be very specific.
Jesus loves the little children. So much so that he once said “Whoever receives a child in my name receives me.” Whenever Jesus is honored as Lord, there is always room for children. To Jesus, the big people were the little people.
In our lobby this Sunday, several local ministries that specifically serve the needs of children will have booths. Stop by and explore. You’ll be encouraged.
All God’s very best to you,
