Hello Everyone:

I have two brief items to share with you in this enote. I have something to say about Easter and about our Youth Minister search.

First, I am looking forward to gathering with you this Easter Sunday morning as we celebrate the good news of the gospel. “Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!”  Our Easter service will highlight the story of Jesus and Bret, Jim, Shane and I will tag team in telling the gospel.

Easter involves a real story, a real resurrection, a real tomb, a real rolling stone, a real Savior and a very real hope for you and me.  Easter is the doorway to salvation and strength, the Independence Day of our souls and the declaration that the life of God is always near.

I encourage you to INVITE others to Easter Sunday because when you invite someone you are letting them know that they are welcome here.  So, text, Facebook, phone, email, twitter, or whatever – you know someone who needs a refresher on how the power of the resurrection dismantles every other power and sets us free.

Second, I am pleased to tell you that we have hired a new Youth Minister to partner with Kelly Edmiston in this incredibly important ministry. He is Michael Rhodes and most recently Michael has served as the Youth Minister at Frederick Church of Christ in Frederick, MD.  Michael received his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Ohio Valley University in 1999. Michael is married to Stacia and they have two children – Melanie (9) and Vance (4). He’s a likable, gifted, and skilled person of high character.  We are eager for his arrival and his ministry among us.

Our thanks to Thom & Sandy Besso of SolomonSwann International and also to Bret Gowens for running point on this search process in such a good way. Michael’s start date is undetermined but it will be as soon as possible.  May 1 is the target.

I look forward to celebrating Resurrection Day with you this Sunday. Hope to see you at either 8:30 or 11:00.

All God’s very best to you,

Ronnie
